Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
Newsletter Week 7
Prayer to the Holy Family -
From Pope Francis
Louise Macdonald (3 Gold) has tendered her resignation from St Therese effective from the end of this term. Louise has worked here for the past 5 years and has filled many varied roles with great success and positivity. Louise has accepted a very different permanent role in the Office of the Bishop. While very saddened by the news, we wish Louise every happiness and success in her new position. Mrs Guido will step up to take 3 Gold as their full-time teacher for Term 4.
Rita Crofts (1 Gold) has accepted a temporary role at St Patrick’s, Port Kembla. This is an awesome opportunity for Professional Development and we wish Rita well with this change. 1 Gold will continue to have Miss Sheridan Keane as their full-time teacher.
“What if …”
I particularly like the following reflection which takes a positive look at the situation we are in with this pandemic. I am a firm believer in that “Every cloud has a silver lining” - sometimes we have to go in search of it and sometimes it may take a little time to shine through, but it is there.

Wellbeing Wednesday
Thank you for the support that has been expressed for Wellbeing Wednesday. I have had so many positive comments so i hope the children have a relaxing day and just have some old fashioned fun, discovering that there are lots of things they can do without the stimulus of a screen. I look forward to seeing lots of photos coming through that can go on our FaceBook page.

Premier's Reading Challenge 2021 & Book Week 2021
BOOK WEEK & NSW Premier's Reading Challenge News 2021
NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge finishes next Friday 3rd September.
Due to recent lockdowns, some rules for the PRC Challenge have been updated: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/rules.html
Two of the recent changes will help students complete their PRC Challenge:
- Students are now allowed to enter 10 personal choice books which are any book he/she has read (or had read to them for K-2) since last September
- Students on all Challenge levels will be able to include books on their reading records that they read collaboratively as a class, in person or online with their teacher or at home with their parents/carers.
This means that you and your children can listen to a book from your grade selection being read online and it will count for your PRC book count. YEAH!!!! Here's the link for the PRC list - see link: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.html
There are some good videos of stars reading books online: https://storylineonline.net and/or https://storyboxlibrary.com.au
