Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
Newsletter Week 6
Let us pray …
Gracious and generous God,
you looked upon your faithful and trusting servant, Mary,
and raised her up to live with you in glory.
May we be inspired by her love for you
and her faithfulness to doing your will.
We ask this through Jesus, your Son.
Amen.
Covid Update
While we are nearing the end of the current lockdown period, my feeling is that it is likely to be extended - till when is the million dollar question. I will communicate any updates with this as soon as possible after a formal announcement is made.
Thank you again for the great support we are getting from parents in keeping children at home. I am well aware of the challenges this presents in many households. Please remember that during this lockdown, children are engaged in home learning not home-schooling. This may sound like the same thing to many however home-schooling implies that parents are totally responsible for the teaching of their children. During home learning, the role of parents is to support children in understanding the tasks set by their teacher, encourage their learning and monitor mental health by knowing when to push and when to stop.
Thanks also to the parents who have contacted the office to state why children are coming to school - this is appreciated. With numbers of children onsite slowly increasing, we will be contacting some families who may be in a position to keep children home more often than they currently are.
Staff Spirituality Pupil Free Day
This day has been postponed and will now be held on in Term 4 on Friday 15th October.

Congratulations to the following student who has recently completed the PRC:
Mikaela Borja KG
Due to recent lockdowns, some rules for the PRC Challenge have been updated: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/rules.html
There are 4 of the recent changes to help students complete their PRC Challenge:
- Students are now allowed to enter 10 personal choice books which are any book he/she has read (or had read to them for K-2) since last September
- Students on all Challenge levels will be able to include books on their reading records that they read collaboratively as a class, in person or online with their teacher or at home with their parents/carers.
- NSW PRC has been extended and now finishes on Friday 2nd September. This means there are still 3 weeks to finish your reading!!!
