Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
Newsletter Week 2
Strength for this Challenging Time
We pray for your love and compassion to abound
as we walk through this challenging season.
We ask for wisdom for those who bear the load
of making decisions with widespread consequences.
We pray for those who are suffering with sickness
and all who are caring for them.
We ask for protection for the elderly and vulnerable
to not succumb to the risks of the virus.
We pray for misinformation to be curbed
that fear may take no hold in hearts and minds.
As we exercise the good sense that you in your mercy provide,
may we also approach each day in faith and peace,
trusting in the truth of your goodness towards us.
On a lighter note, follow the link below to a desperate parent’s plea for divine intervention to be able to cope with home schooling:
Thank you to all of our Amazing Staff!!
I just want to acknowledge the great work happening and sense of community that is present in all of our St Therese staff. As stated before, none of us want remote learning but we can’t dwell on that - there is a job to be done! Currently we have at least two thirds of our staff working remotely. Classroom teachers have been freed up just to focus on forward planning and daily interactions with their students. Specialist teachers have some time to plan activities which will support classroom teachers but spend much of their time, along with School Support Officers, supervising the 40 - 50 students who need to be at school everyday. This is truly an amazing effort which always reminds me how blessed I am to be part of such a wonderful community.
Support for Remote Learning
At times, things won’t always work out the way they were planned or intended. We encourage all students to send their teacher a message when / if they feel lost or confused. For younger students, parents or carers are invited to step in and do this if necessary. Just about all issues are quickly resolved and the feedback is appreciated.
Morning Drop Off
During this time of remote learning, we ask that any students coming to school be dropped off using the Powell St ‘Kiss & Drop’ zones. Entry via the hall will remain locked.
OOSH
All OOSH times & procedures remain unchanged at this time.
Thank you Mrs Hogan
Hopefully by now you would have seen Jenna’s latest creative masterpiece featuring photos of staff with Jenna’s original song in the background. It should be accessible via student Google Classroom or SeeSaw and also on the school FaceBook page. We hope it brings a smile to a few faces. (Thanks also to Jenna’s daughter, Madi, for her technical assistance.)
