Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
Wednesday of the
Third Week of Lent
Readings: Matt 5:17-19
Invitation to Prayer: Lord Jesus, I know that you desire to refine my heart and my life. Help me to surrender as you chisel away my Impurities and make me new.
Reflection: Jesus affirms in the Gospel that he did not come to “abolish” the Mosaic Law but rather to fulfill it. That’s what Jesus does: He makes all things new (Rev. 21:5). If He can so perfectly perfect and transform the Old Covenant, how much more so can he perfect and transform our hearts, if only we surrender to Him.
Prayer: Father, we thank You for deeming us worthy to call you “Abba.” Help me to thoroughly examine my life and remove that which is keeping me from following your law. I lay down my old life, my wills, my desires for the new fulfillment that only You can give.
COVID-19 Update
As you will see from today’s letter sent on Compass, many school events and routines are changing. These changes are based on the best advice possible at a particular point in time. There are a wide range of views on how this pandemic should be addressed but we can only go on the information we receive through the Federal Government, Catholic Schools NSW and the Catholic Education Office. In light of this, we have today ceased whole school assemblies. Students will assemble in the mornings and after breaks closer to their classrooms so that they are not all in close proximity to each other. During eating times, we have spread the children over the whole back playground rather than confined to the shade structures.
At this stage the schools remain open and there is plan to change this.

Relics of St Therese & her Parents – VENUE CHANGE
The program for the Relics of St Therese has changed. Relics can now be viewed at St Collumbkilles Catholic Church from today until Monday.
Morning Drop Off in the Front Playground
Parents / Carers are reminded that the gates for entry into the front playground will be closed at 8.50am. Cars that are already in by that time will need to be moved by 9am when the exit gates are locked. This is for the safety of all students.
Front Playground Kiss & Drop
There is an area near the corner of the church dedicated to Kiss & Drop. As with the zone at the front of the school, children should have their bag in the back seat with them. Exiting the car should be via the passenger side of the car. As we move into our building project (hopefully in Term 4), an effective Kiss & Drop is going to be crucial to traffic flow.
School Shoes
Just a reminder that school shoes are black leather shoes with the Summer and Winter uniforms. Sports joggers should be predominantly white. This is in keeping with our uniform policy which has remained unchanged (regardless of what your kids might say!!).
P & F Executive
These positions of President, Vice President and Secretary will be open to nominations at the next meeting on March 24 and if necessary a secret ballot will be held. Voting can only be accepted from those who attend the meeting.
Cyber Safety
National Day of Action Against Bullying
This was set down for this Friday but has been postponed. However, every day should be a reminder that there is no place for bullying in our schools or in our community.. Please remember, BULLYING is persistent, targeted behaviour towards one or more people. While we do have cases of student disagreements and sometimes physical contact (they are generally friends again the next day!), incidents of bullying are rare. This is due to the example set by parents and the processes put in place at school. If you are concerned at any time, please talk to your child’s teacher or come to see me.
