Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the Sacrament of Baptism. If Baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, Confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age.
Confirmation is a true sacrament instituted by Christ and different from baptism. It is administered by laying-on of hands and anointing with chrism accompanied by prayer. The chrism is blessed by the bishop and the bishop administers the sacrament. All baptized persons can and should be confirmed.
Spirit of God, grant me:
The gift of wisdom
To see the world through your eyes,
The gift of counsel
To make difficult decisions,
The gifts of knowledge and understanding
To use my mind to know you and to love you,
The gift of fortitude
To have the courage to live in the faith
Despite the difficulties and disappointments,
The gift of piety
To be able to express my special love
And commitment to you,
And the right kind of awesome fear
That makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s Love.
Amen.
Confirmation
Congratulations to many of our Year 6 students who joined other students in the parish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation either last night or this evening. The sacramental ceremony has had to take on a different format this year most notable is the absence of Bishop Brian, but Fr Duane has stepped up to deliver a very special and meaningful occasion for the candidates. Thank you to all the staff and parishioners who have this occasion by being present to perform certain roles or working behind the scenes to ensure all went well.
Staffing Changes for 2021
- Mrs Adele Walsh will be returning fulltime and will be teaching Kindergarten with Mrs Crane.
- Miss Dominique Tobin joins our staff on a 12 month temporary contact. Dominique currently teaches in a large state school in South West Sydney.
- Mrs Anne-Marie Gilmore has accepted a temporary 12 month transfer to St Columbkille’s, Corrimal.
- Mrs Kirra Calvert, as mentioned previously, joins our staff as the Religious Education Coordinator and part of the school leadership team.
Congratulations Mrs Staff - Sophie

From January onwards, there will be a number of School Opal cards expiring, as the physical card has reached its lifespan.
These are cards for students who will be in years 8 to 12 in 2021, and only those Opal cards which haven’t been replaced in the last five years.
Impacted students and/or their parent/guardian will be contacted directly by Transport for NSW via email or post. They will be asked to confirm their details online in order for a new School Opal card to be sent to the correct postal address in time for the new school year.
If contacted by Transport for NSW, details should be submitted online by December 1, 2020 at the latest. Affected students who do not confirm their details in time will have a new School Opal card posted to the address we currently have on file.
