Funeral for Bishop Peter Ingham

• 6:30pm Lying in Repose – Cathedral
• 6:45 pm Evening Prayer of the Dead (led by Seminarians of the Diocese)
• 7:30pm Vigil Liturgy (not Mass) celebrated by Bishop Mascord

 

Friday 10 May 2024

• 10.30 am Requiem Mass – Cathedral
• Mass in the Cathedral, with onsite burial to follow.
• There will be no seating for general public within the cathedral however a marque with seating and screens will be set up in the carpark
• Alternatively, St Therese Church will be set up for live streaming of the Requiem Mass at 10.30am with an Extraordinary Minister available to distribute communion at the appropriate time.

Staff Changes

After a process of internal advertising and interviews, the following appointments have been made to the school leadership team:

• Acting Assistant Principal - Kristy South (Term 2, Weeks 6-10)
• Acting REC - Amy Runko (Term 2)
• Acing ML1 (Sport) - Jazmin Tikkeros (Terms 2 & 3)

I congratulate Kristy, Amy and Jazmin on their appointments knowing that they well work diligently to bring about the best outcomes for the school and students.

WHO DO WE CONTACT? 

To assist with the leading of initiatives and the general running of school activities each stage is allocated a leader.  For 2024 the following staff have been allocated to the four stages:

Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten) Mrs Kristy South & Mrs Vezinias

Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2) Mrs Kristy South & Mrs Vezinias

Stage 2 (Year 3 and Year 4) Mrs Amy Runko

Stage 3 (Year 5 and Year 6) Mrs Bethany Tirchett

SPORT- Miss Jazmin Tikkeros

Should you have any questions or concerns, your first port of call should always be your child's teacher.  Should you require further clarification you can make contact with the Stage Leader.

Uniform (transition period)

Once again we enter this time of year where the weather seems to fluctuate quite a bit. Therefore over the next few weeks, students can choose to wear either their Winter or Summer uniform. Sports days remain the same. The official changeover where all students are expected in their Winter uniform will be from Monday, 27 May (Week 5).

Currently, the P & F are looking for an interested parent who has some available time to take over their Social Media role. The only experience is an ability to access and update our FaceBook presence (this rules me out!). Throughout the year teachers have access to a variety of quality professional development opportunities. Casual teachers are employed to cover classes with the teacher ensuring the teaching program and routines are followed.

Parent-School Partnership Framework

Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) strives to create vibrant Catholic communities of faith and learning and believes this is best achieved when there is a genuine partnership between home and school.

The Lighting the Way Together Parent-School Partnership Framework has been developed to support the creation and maintenance of this partnership. It outlines for parents* and school the principles and expectations of the parent-school partnership so that together we can create:

• identifiably Catholic communities, inspired by the person and teaching of Jesus Christ, where all strive to act with hope, integrity, justice and compassion; and
• effective schools which enhance student learning and wellbeing.

The Parent-School Partnership Framework is available in six additional languages to help support you and your family.
