PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - MR STEVE THORNE
The second candle on the Advent Wreath represents Peace and is also purple. Often called the “Bethlehem Candle”, this candle reminds us of Mary & Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem before Mary gave birth to Jesus. It also builds on the meaning of the Prophecy Candle, recalling that after the division, destruction and dispersion of the kingdom in the Old Testament, there might finally be peace on Earth.
God of peace,
during this Advent season, keep us from getting caught up in the busyness
and chaos of the world around us.
Help us to slow down, so that we may find rest
in the Prince of Peace, your son, Jesus Christ.
As we prepare for his coming, make us instruments of your peace in our homes,
in our schools, in our work and in our world.
Amen
Staffing
Over the past two weeks there have been quite a few changes regarding staff for 2024. At this point in time, I can say that we have a number of new staff to the school and quite a few changes as to classes being taught for current staff. With a few loose ends to tidy up, I hope to be able to publish a full list of staff next Monday.
Meet Your Teacher Session
At the end of each year, we inform students of who their teacher will be for the following year. This is currently scheduled to occur on Monday after lunch. With quite a few new staff to the school, we will not be able to introduce everyone but we will be able to let students know who their teacher is and provide some background information.
Christmas Liturgy / Celebration
As previously notified, this will happen in the back playground from 11.30am. Parents, grandparents, pre-schoolers, etc are all very welcome.
