Middle Leader 1 - Sport

After going through the advertising and interview process, Mrs Dom Hogarth has been the successful applicant for the Middle Leader 1 position focusing on Sport. This position is for the 2024 school year. Dom will take responsibility for the implementation of the PDHPE curriculum as well as co-ordinating carnivals and representative sport.

Genova D’A (Yr 6) Public Speaking

This Friday, Genova will represent St Therese in the final of the Year 6 Public Speaking Competition. Genova’s chosen topic is ‘The Secret Life of Teachers’. To get this far, Genova won at the school competition, then at the regional competition. We wish Genova all the best for Friday as well as acknowledge her commitment by passing up the opportunity to attend the Canberra excursion with her peers.

Year 6 excursion

On Friday, Year 6 will travel to Canberra for the day to visit many of the locations that they have been learning about this year. The agenda for this day is very full and over many hours. I thank the staff who are attending for their generosity of time and spirit as they “didn’t want the children to miss out”.

Congratulations - Basketball

Yesterday we had 5 students compete at the Diocesan Basketball trials. This, as you can imagine, is a very competitive event with students representing from nearly every Catholic primary school across the diocese. At the end of the day, only 10 boys and 10 girls were chosen. Congratulations to Llyns S, Bridie L (Both Yr 4) and Jessica McL (Yr 5) who have all been selected in the girls team - an awesome achievement.

Sydney Swans Academy

Three students from St Therese recently trialled for the Sydney Swans Academy. This is a very highly competitive event with over 300 students from the Swans drawing area of Coffs Harbour down to Kiama all looking to be selected. Finn K (Yr 4) was successful and will now join the academy’s elite training program from early in 2024. Congratulations Finn on this awesome achievement.

Holy Spirit College Mass of Remembrance

Each year, Holy Spirit College host a Mass in November to remember deceased students and staff. This is always a very special occasion to which everyone is welcome to attend.
