Principal's Message - Mr Steve Thorne
TRINITY SUNDAY
Loving God,
we are limited in our understanding of you,
but we know that you care for us and for all creation.
Thank you for loving us
and remaining with us in our sorrows and joys.
Thank you for the life of Jesus
whose life shows us the way to life and happiness and trust.
Thank you for your Spirit who leads us.
Warm our hearts and unite us,
that we might open our lives to you
to accept all your love and to respond to it
by entrusting ourselves to you
with all that you have made us and given us.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Parent Teacher Interviews
More details next week but times will be set aside for 10 minute interviews to be held during Weeks 9 and 10 (Kinders Week 8). The focus of these interviews will be on student wellbeing ie touching base with how they have gone over the past 2 months and whether there is anything we need to know in mving forward into Term 3.
Rationale for the Interim Report for Semester 1, 2020
In these unprecedented times in education, traditional direct instruction has been altered due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Determining academic mastery is challenging in remote learning environments as conversations, observations and assessments are limited. This Interim Report reflects the engagement in learning undertaken during classroom and remote learning over the course of Term 1 up until the middle of Term 2, 2020. The Key Learning Areas of Religious Education, English and Mathematics have been a key focus for many of the classroom and remote learning experiences delivered during Terms 1 and 2. It is anticipated that this Interim

Why
|
● Explanation of Interim Report to parents |
● This Interim Report reflects the learning engagement undertaken during classroom and remote learning over the course of Term 1 and mid -Term 2, 2020. The Key Learning Areas of Religious Education, English and Mathematics have been a key focus for many of the classroom and remote learning lessons delivered during Terms 1 and 2.
|
● Learning Engagement for Religious Education, English and Mathematics |
● Previously schools have reported to parents twice per year and report on student progress and achievement against a five point scale. Due to the current circumstances and the need for schools to teach remotely, valid assessment of student learning has been challenging. Therefore, it seems more appropriate that student engagement in learning in the three Key Learning Areas is reported on for the period of Term 1 up until the middle of Term 2.

Congratulations Mrs Milner
We are very happy to be able to announce that Mrs Stephanie Milner had a little baby girl last Thursday evening. The very proud parents along with little Pippa are now all home and settling in to their new life as a family of three (and Gus!).
Kiss & Collect
Thank you for the great support we have had with the implementation of the Kiss & Collect Zone. Our challenge now is the volume of children leaving the school this way but we have a few more ideas to trial. Late buses which have occurred for the past two Mondays are causing some headaches but every other day seems to be fine.
Could I ask parents to please trim the Surname Sign and attach to the passenger side sun visor. This will be far more visible to the teachers on duty and to the children.
School Uniform
I have spoken to Lowes today as I have heard that some parents are finding it difficult to get uniform items from Lowes. They are expecting a delivery of the long pants later this week.. We do have limited second-hand items available through the school office but if anyone is looking to throw out items that are too small, please send them into school.
Canteen
Expected opening date is Wednesday, June 9. More details will be provided soon.
Cyber Safety
Apple iWatches and SmartWatches
Parents are reminded that no children should be wearing any watches that have games or have photo / video capability. These can be a distraction to learning as well as posing privacy concerns and potential costly damage.3 June to 9 June

Calling all Dads!
The Wollongong Infant Learning Lab at Early Start are studying Australian fathers’ experiences of parenting through the COVID-19 pandemic. A key outcome of the study is to develop an understanding of the parenting experiences that happened for fathers (or father figures) and their young children during and after this unprecedented international event.
Their primary focus is on fathers (or father figures) who have one or more children aged 0-6 years. Participants will be asked to complete an online survey with questions about you, your work, your family and how your situation may have changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will also be asked about your stress levels over the last month. The questionnaire will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. After you have completed the survey, there is also the option to participate further in a follow-up interview via telephone or Zoom.
If you wish to participate in the survey, click on the following link:
