This Monday, staff will engage in a Professional Development Day to focus on improving the quality and consistency of the Literacy Block in each classroom.
Disco
As mentioned previously, our school disco will be held this Friday
- Kinder - Year 2 5pm - 6.30pm
- Year 3 - Year 6 7pm - 8.30pm
Please ensure children bring along their water bottle clearly marked with their name.
Congratulations Fabian 6G
During Week 2 of this term, Fabian and his family flew to Perth for the National Primary School Football Championships. Representing NSW, Fabian’s team didn’t have a great start, losing their first 3 games. At this point they had some time to get to know each others’ game, regroup and make a few changes. Whatever they did, it worked! NSW went on to finish 3rd overall in the championships. At St Therese, we are very proud of Fabian in terms of the commitment he displays towards his sport but also to the way this flows over into his commitment to his learning and the respect he shows towards his coaches and teachers. The accolades he has received are very well deserved. We look forward to seeing what other achievements Fabian has in store for the future.
Kinder 2023 Orientation
This will be held next Wednesday, 9 November at 9.30am. We will commence with a liturgy in the church that will be supported by our school choir and Year 6 students.
Classes 2023
As usual at this time of the year, parents are invited to communicate with me if they have any concerns regarding their child’s learning in 2023. This is not an opportunity to pick and choose your child’s teacher but a time where you can let me know about your child’s learning style, friendship issues, etc. Ultimately there are many variables which impact class placement and we can only split students into one of two classes. While I will take onboard parental concerns, I cannot guarantee all requests will be met. Communication from parents must be received by Friday, 4 November.
Blessing and Opening of the Primary Building
Bishop Brian will officially bless and open our primary building on Friday, 18 November at 10am. This will involve many invited guests participating in a whole school liturgy, hopefully in the back playground. Parents are invited to join in this celebration which will be followed by a morning tea and an opportunity to view the building.

Staff Devlopment Day Monday 7th November 2022
The University of Wollongong invites our students to Learning Labs, an academic and creative arts enrichment holiday program. Students from Year 1 to 6 who are passionate, self-motivated and curious learners are invited to apply.
Dates: Little Learning Labs (Years 1 and 2): 9th – 11th January 2023
Early Learning Labs (Years 3 to 6): 17th – 19th January 2023

Mission Month
Thank you to everyone who was able to spare a gold coin and dress up with their very crazy socks last week. Thanks to your generosity we raised close to $450 dollars to send overseas to Ethiopia.
Grandparents/ St Therese Mass
Thank you to all our families who were able to join us last Friday. We were overwhelmed by the number of people who were able to attend our wonderful celebration. After Mass, our families were able to view our newly refurbished building was an added bonus.

TEENAGE YOUTH GROUP, 13 – 17 YEARS
LIVE LOCAL Catholic Youth Ministry Wollongong (CYMW) has arrived in the Illawarra! LIVE Local is a Regional Youth Group run by the CYMW and NET Team, who are excellent at engaging with youth at whatever stage of faith. Come along for snacks, games, formation, prayer and music. RECONCILIATION
Normal times for Reconciliation to resume from 5pm Saturday 23rd October, please refer to the weekly bulletin this Friday for the details. In addition, Fr Jerzy will be offering Reconciliation from Monday 25th October until Saturday 30th October after Mass as needed.
